Stamp of the Year 2025 – Results Announced

We are delighted to announce the results of the Stamp of the Year 2025 vote.

1st Place – Columnar Basalt
The winning stamp is the stunning souvenir sheet Columnar Basalt, designed and engraved by renowned artist Martin Mörck. The issue captures the beauty of one of nature’s most remarkable geological formations.

2nd Place – Dove of Peace
In second place is Dove of Peace, the first Faroese embroidered stamp. This joint issue was created through a collaboration between European countries, the United Nations and the Universal Postal Union (UPU) to highlight the importance of peace and happiness. Designed by Iris Hämmerle.

3rd Place – Víkar
Taking third place is Víkar, featuring the abandoned Faroese village founded in the 1830s and deserted in 1910. The stamp showcases the dramatic landscape and unique atmosphere of this remote location. Photograph by Thomas Vikre.

As part of the vote, participating collectors were entered into a prize draw for a selection of philatelic prizes. The lucky winners have been notified.
